We arrived in Rome eager to see the Colloseum and explore the history we knew made up the entire city. We took the opportunity to eat American food again (at the Hard Rock Cafe) which was a welcome change after having daily margarita pizzas. The Trevi Fountain was as breathtaking as you'd imagine. We settled into the city a little more than others, opting to make our own meals. explore local parks, and imagine being Romans rather than try to cross off every tourist attraction we could muster. It was a much-wel-comed break and set us up well for the next two cities we'd inhabit before returning home.
