Cinematic Front Yard Photos of My Kids

I’ve always enjoyed how much cropping an image a particular way can impact the final result. Enjoying a warm afternoon in the sun on our front porch, I snapped a few photos before we finished off the evening with bbq burgers for dinner. Sometimes you remind yourself that your life can feel like a movie if you just look at it the right way.

For these photos, I actually put small strips of gaff tape across the LCD screen on the back of the Fuji XH2S. It was fun to compose in this way and see what I could make with it.

My favourite old movies (Ben-Hur [1959] is the one that comes to mind) that use wide framing incredibly well also fill up the entire frame with interesting things to look at. Not necessarily saying I achieved that here (lol) but an effort was made.
