Rainy Walk with the Kids, Typewriters, and Early Mornings in the Dog House

I’m still adjusting back to using Nikons (which kinda feels like going home after you move away to college), the biggest challenge of which being the downgrade in autofocus performance of the Nikon D600 (my current/only body) from the Fuji XH2S (what I’ve been using solely for the past ~4 years).

Looking for almost any opportunity to get my reps in, I took Walt, Betty, and Patch for a walk in the rain and brought the camera along. Still a learning curve with that DSLR, but we’re getting there. Really happy with the colours: I think my “Nikon to Fuji” custom Lightroom preset is working really well.

Couple days later, was typing in the Dog House which always makes me feel creatively inspired.

A few days after that, an early morning cranking out work in the Dog House. A slow and pretty sunrise and some quiet work in the dark felt like a prime time to snap a few photos.
