Cincinnati Weekend and Dinner with Mia Sheridan

My wife Leanne never used to be a reader… then I bought her a Kindle. 1,000 novels later, and she has certainly read more books that I ever will.

One of her favourite authors is Mia Sheridan, who was doing a book signing in her hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio. Only being about 5 hours away, we made the trek down and were kindly received by Mia and her husband for dinner the night before. (Leanne had messaged her on Instagram to simply ask if she’d be willing to sign a handful of books given the drive. Mia was super kind and said she was going to round up anyone who came from far away for the signing for dinner. Lucky for us, we got a double date with her and her husband.)

I’d share more about our dinner with them (for a moment it was like meeting a celebrity) but Mia (real name redacted) and her husband were so kind that we genuinely felt like it was just dinner out with a couple we were good friends with. Don’t want to spoil it with divulging much more than that. I intended to sneak off to the “restroom” and pay for dinner (a trick I picked up from a good buddy of mine), but the waiter refused because he knew Mia’s husband would insist on covering the bill. We couldn’t believe their generosity.

Incredible couple, amazing author, wicked city. Can’t wait to go back!
