About Melissa
Melissa DeRuiter is a real estate agent with the Rob Golfi RE/MAX team here in Hamilton, Ontario. In 2020, Melissa jumped full-time into a new career as a realtor, and needed to stand out in a competitive and oversaturated market.
Together, we developed a strategy behind Melissa’s social media that sought to emphasize Melissa’s various strengths as a realtor. On Instagram, we targeted the most relevant hashtags her clients would search in order to organically stumble upon Melissa’s profile. We crafted a strong bio that conveyed these strengths, and developed a regular posting schedule for maximum organic engagement and growth.
In the first year, Melissa’s social media following more than doubled, and her engagement grew substantially from the modest following she had before our collaboration.
Additionally, we developed an introductory promotional video that introduces Melissa to anyone who hasn’t yet had the chance to meet her.
Continuing into the future, we are continuously developing new ways to push the boundaries on what Melissa’s social profiles can do for her business and, more importantly, her clients.

With social media as Melissa’s primary channel of marketing, we needed a way to quickly introduce her to any new followers that came her way.
We developed this short promotional video intended to live on Instagram’s IGTV platform so that it was always readily available to anyone who happened upon her channel.
